Once again, Zachary Tinkle will be filling the seat for Tim Richmond in the ARCA Menards Series in the Sioux Chief PowerPEX200 at Salem Speedway with Wayne Peterson serving as crew chief. Unfortunately, Tim is still recovering from an injury that he suffered at Michigan International Speedway earlier in the season.
After his performance in the #27 car owned by David Richmond in the two previous races, he was invited to come back for a third time to race for the team. Tinkle raced for the #27 team at DuQuoin where he scored an 8th place finish. He then finished the Bristol Motor Speedway race in the 20th position in a stacked field of competitors.
Tinkle said, “I’m still hopeful for a quick and speedy recovery for Tim. His injuries were pretty significant in Michigan so his body just needs time to heal. I’ve had a blast racing in the #27 car both at DuQuoin and Bristol. This team is an awesome group of dedicated guys that I’ve really enjoyed getting to know. I’m looking forward to Salem.”
He has raced twice before at Salem Speedway in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour a pro late model car. In 2018, Tinkle scored a 7th place finish with Lorz Motorsports and won the Hardcharger Award. Then, in 2021, he raced the Tinkle Family Racing pro late model car and scored a 6th place finish after a tire blew in the last few laps when he was contending for the win.
The Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 at Salem Speedway in the ARCA Menards Series will air on MAVTV and NBC Sport Gold TrackPass at 8 PM EST on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Fans can also listen to the broadcast on ARCARacing.com. It will be a 200 lap race totaling 111 miles on .555=mile paved oval.
