The day after his race at Kil-Kare in Ohio, Zachary Tinkle’s father had a stroke. Soon thereafter, the family made a decision to halt Zachary’s racing for the season based on so many health and financial unknowns. It was announced that he would not be participating in the Masters of the Pros 150 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in light of this.
With Zachary then being available and a team needing a driver, he is able to fill the seat in the 06 Ford for Wayne Peterson Motorsports on the same date as the Nashville Race in the ARCA Menards Zinsser Smartcoat 200 at Berlin Raceway, making his series debut.
Tinkle is very much looking forward to the opportunity, especially since he didn’t know when he would be able to race again. He met Wayne Peterson at Charlotte Motor Speedway earlier in the year and has a respect for his history in racing and military service.
Zachary commented, “I need the seat time. Wayne needed a driver. It worked out perfectly. I’m just so grateful for the opportunity. Things have been chaotic and I didn’t know when I’d be in a race car again. Luckily, my Dad has released early and gets to be with me for my ARCA Menards series debut. I can’t ask for anything more than that.”
Fans that can’t make it to Marne, MI / Berlin Raceway on July 17th can catch the broadcast on the MAVTV Motorsports Network. There is a live stream also available on NBC Sports Gold’s TrackPass.
