Zachary Tinkle wrapped up his mini cup racing points season with a clean sweep during the Paint The Track Pink night at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana on Saturday, October 10, 2015.
Tinkle started out the day by becoming the fastest qualifier with a track time of 15.427. Even though he was inverted to the back in the heat race because he was the fastest qualifier, he quickly made his way to the front of the pack to lead the race by lap 5 out of 10. He then led the race to the checkered flag.
Because Tinkle had won the previous Central States Region Super Cups race at Rockford Speedway, he was inverted to the back, starting out in 9th position. By the time the first lap was complete, Zachary had put himself in fifth place when a caution came up because of a driver spinning on the track. At the single file restart, he immediately popped to the outside to pass the #13 car. Once he was clear, he took the inside line to take the track three-wide to pass the #59 and the #16 cars putting him in second position by lap 4 of the race. He then had his sights on the #4 car, which he almost caught up to after two laps when caution came out again because of a driver spin. On the restart, Tinkle passed the #4 on the backstretch on the outside. He then maintained a healthy lead out front until the end of lap #25 taking the checkered flag.
In his on-track interview after the race, Tinkle said that this was his first clean sweep and that he was glad for it to happen at Anderson Speedway since he had family there for support.
This means that Tinkle wrapped up his season by winning four out of the last five feature races for Central States Region Super Cups. For winning, Zachary received pink ribbon trophies that commemorate the Paint The Track Pink theme at Anderson Speedway.
