Tinkle Family Racing and Lorz Motorsports with driver Zachary Tinkle made the trip to Michigan on Saturday to compete with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance at the very tricky Berlin Raceway, located in Marne, Michigan. The Hall of Fame 100 had a very stout entry list with the best of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and the local Berlin Raceway late models.
Zachary participated in the hour long practice session, making several very long runs trying to learn how to get around the challenging oval. As Lorz Motorsports tuned the car and Zachary learned his way around the track, he knew he would be the most inexperienced driver on the track in Saturday night’s Hall Of Fame 100.
Zachary’s inexperience showed in qualifying, but the Zachary and the team were ready to begin their 100 lap race, with the goal of making all the laps and keeping the car in one piece. Zachary did just that, completing all the laps and not getting one scratch on his car. He finished 16th out of the 21 cars that started the race. He avoided a couple of accidents and took advantage of the long race to learn the track , which showed with Zachary turning faster laps by the end of the race, then he had turned all day.
Zachary was very happy with his finish and his race at Berlin, “We had a great night of learning a lot at the tricky Berlin Raceway with Lorz Motorsport. Thank you for all the fans that came by after the races to ask questions and get goody bags. Thank you to Lynne Rene Lorz, Amanda Lorz, and Zach for helping and bringing food! Thank you to all my sponsors Left Paw Press, Performance Friction Brakes and Simpson Race Products!”
