Fast Track Racing went to Dover Motor Speedway to on Friday April 28, 2023 knowing that Mother Nature could spoil race plans. Because of rain, practice and qualifying for the General Tire 125 were cancelled. Race time was set for after the NASCAR® xfinity on Saturday. The starting lineup was set by the 2022 owners points, which put Zachary Tinkle on the front row starting in the outside pole position.
With a sunny Saturday, the race was able to take place on time and Tinkle in the second position on the pace laps, but dropped to the rear for the start of the race. He kept a steady pace, making his way up to the seventh position and staying on the lead lap after picking up the “lucky dog” after the first two competition cautions when a late race caution came out giving him another free pass and gaining another sport on the restart.
Zachary ended the race in 6th – his best ARCA career finish. This was the second ARCA career best finish this season with his first being in the season opener at Pensacola where he finished 7th. This was the first time since Pensacola 2022 that a Fast Track Racing affiliated car finished on the lead lap and in the top 10, but was the first time since 2021 with a Fast Track Racing entry.
Also, while waiting for word on the rain delay, the team was able to make time to wish a Happy birthday to Fast Track Racing team owner, Andy Hillenburg.
