After a respectable performance at Berlin Raceway in the ARCA Menards Series, Zachary Tinkle was invited back to pilot the Wayne Peterson 06 Ford at Winchester Speedway on July 31st. As one of his favorite tracks, Zachary was excited for the opportunity even though this meant not racing in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour race in Birch Run, MI and giving up competing for that championship. He made a video announcement.

Prior to the race, Tinkle went on a shopping spree to his local Menard’s to plug the ARCA Menard’s Series sponsors. He also had the opportunity to meet some fans.

His video was picked up in a blog and social media post by NASCAR® reporter and commentator, Toby Christie. In his opening to the post, Christie said, “While Zachary Tinkle may only have one ARCA Menards Series race under his belt, a 13th-place finish at Berlin Raceway earlier this season, the 18-year old driver for Wayne Peterson Racing is showing he already has the whole driver / sponsorship relationship thing all figured out…”

The weather was near perfect in Indiana for the Winchester Speedway race. The team unloaded in their pit near turn 4. Practice went well with few adjustments needed to the car. Tinkle then qualified 13th in the General Tire pole award competition. There was an autograph section in the midway where hundreds of fans got to meet the ARCA Menards Series drivers. The crowd had resounding applause when local driver Tinkle was introduced.

During the race, Tinkle was able to avoid a couple crashes that resulted in yellow and red flag conditions. He went on to finish the race in 11th place. Tinkle posted on social media, “So excited I was invited back to race in the 06 Ford for Wayne Peterson at Winchester Speedway in the Calypso Lemonade 200 in the ARCA Racing Series. Started 13th and finished the race 11th. I appreciate the team and the opportunity so much!”

An announcement for Tinkle’s next race will be forthcoming.
