Zachary Tinkle went to the track hopeful after surviving a rainy second race day the previous day at New Smyrna Speedway.
He did well in practice – getting up to 8th fastest on old tires, which was pretty promising to the team. Tinkle didn’t qualified where he hoped to – 13th position.
During the race, he was doing well and gaining position when a caution came out. He dove down toward the apron. At some point, his right front tire started going down, causing him to lose speed and position. He finished the race 15th.
Zachary posted on social media: “Well, today wasn’t our day, we qualified 13th and we were able to dodge a lot of wrecks and got up to 9th by then we ran over debris and got a slow leak in the right front and that affected us the rest of the race and we slipped to the back. RF tire had just 13 pounds of air in it at the end of the race. Fortunately we made it home in one piece and will race again Tuesday. Thank you to the team for their constant hard work and to the fans for supporting local short track racing.”
